- QHow long does an overseas transfer take?Transfers arrive in about 3 minutes on average. Hanpass pre-funds destination countries, so your money does not pass through intermediary banks. Actual time may vary by country and payout method.
- QWhat is the transfer limit?Without supporting documents, Korean nationals can send up to USD 100,000 and foreign nationals up to USD 50,000 per year (combined across all financial institutions, based on the Foreign Exchange Transactions Regulations effective January 2026). Per-transaction and daily limits can be checked on the transfer screen in the app.
- QWhich countries can I send money to?You can send money to over 200 countries worldwide. Major countries are connected via dedicated networks, while other countries are connected through global partner networks. Selecting a country will display the available receiving options on the app.
- QWhat happens if a transfer fails?If a transfer cannot be completed, the amount is refunded and you can track the status in the app. Customer support is available in 16 languages.
- QHow is this different from traditional bank transfers?Transfers take about 3 minutes on average, with none of the intermediary, telegraphic, or recipient
fees that bank wires add at each step. Hanpass pre-funds destinations, removing middle-step costs.
Hanpass is registered with the Ministry of Economy and Finance as a small-sum overseas remittance
provider (No. 2017-11) and supervised by the FSS.
- Q[Manual] Deposit not made to virtual accountIf none of the items below apply or if the failure continues, please contact the customer center.
1. If the virtual account's validity period has expired (2 hours after issuance), please apply for a new remittance.
2. The bank you registered the account with may be undergoing maintenance. Please try again later.
3. Please check if the virtual account number and amount issued when applying for remittance are correct.
4. Please check if the account selected when applying for remittance and the account you wish to transfer to are the same.
5. Deposits through bank branches are not supported. You can use mobile banking or ATMs.
- QThe remittance status is displayed as 'Rejected'.If the deposit is not confirmed within 2 hours after the remittance request, the status will automatically change to 'Rejected'.
- QThe remittance has been refunded.If the receiving information is incorrect, the payment may be returned locally. In this case, the refund will be processed to the withdrawal account you selected, and depending on the country and receiving method, the amount excluding the fee may be refunded. If it is recognized as a fault of Hanpass, the entire deposited amount will be refunded, but if the deposit is made to another account due to an error in the receiving information you applied for, a refund may not be possible.
- QWhat information do I need when I receive the money I sent locally?Bank Transfer: None
Cash Pickup: Cash Pickup Code, valid ID required.
In some countries, a 'Partner Company' or a mobile phone number of the registered phone number is required. Please visit the branch to confirm this.

- QCan I send money right after signing up?You can apply for a transfer right away after completing ID verification and account registration.

- QI paid the remittance fee, but will a deposit fee be charged when the money is deposited?There is no deposit fee added by Hanpass itself. However, some cash pickup locations may have separate fees charged by the location.
- QRemittance request is not possibleAfter registering for automatic withdrawal, the amount limit within 3 days has been exceeded or the balance is insufficient, so it may be rejected.

- QWhat information is required for overseas remittance?It varies depending on the recipient country and remittance method, but basically the recipient's name, bank information (account number, routing number, bank name, etc.), remittance amount, remittance purpose, etc. are required.
- QHow is the exchange rate determined when remittance is made?You can check the desired country and remittance method within the app.
- QWill there be a fee due to the exchange rate difference when remittance is made?Generally, you can receive the amount confirmed at the time of application.
- QI filled out the transfer application, but why hasn't the money been sent yet?After filling out the application form, did you deposit money into the virtual account? You must deposit money into the virtual account you received. For more information, please contact the customer center.
- QHow long should I deposit after applying for remittance to a virtual account?Deposits must be made within 2 hours.
- QAre there any documents required when applying for a remittance?Normally, they are not required when applying,
but the responsible team may request the recipient's ID, etc. afterwards.
- QIs it possible to remit overseas to a corporate account?Remittances from individuals to corporations are not possible. For remittances from corporations to corporations, please contact the corporate remittance team.
- QA transfer confirmation is required.You can issue a service usage certificate by going to My Page in the upper right corner of the Hanpass app and clicking on the bottom.
- QHow can I receive a coupon discount?When sending money overseas, you can apply the coupon issued at the bottom to reduce the fee.

- QCan I sign up with just a passport?Yes - you can sign up in the app with a passport or Alien Registration Card. Identity verification is completed remotely, with no bank visit required.
- QCan I use the service without a bank account?You can fund transfers by bank transfer, convenience-store payment, or mobile micropayment.
Recipients without a bank account can receive via cash pickup or mobile wallet.
- QHow do I sign up for the service?You can download the 'Hanpass' application from the Google Play Store or IOS App Store and use it in the overseas remittance menu. Service sign-up is not supported on the Hanpass homepage.
If you comply with the sign-up conditions, you can sign up for membership by following the steps below.

- QSMS authentication doesn't work on my phone.If your mobile phone number is not authenticated by SMS, please check the following.

- QID verification is rejected/failed.If none of the items below apply or if the failure continues, please contact the customer center.
1. If it is determined that the ID information cannot be verified normally, it may be rejected.
Please try again according to the instructions on the ID authentication page.
- If the image quality is poor, part of the ID is missing, light reflection, it is not a real ID, foreign ID, ID expiration date, etc.
2. If there is an ID that has already passed ID authentication, please log in with that ID or withdraw membership from the account and proceed with ID authentication again with the ID you want to use.
- QWhat is Customer Verification?The "Customer Verification System" is a system that verifies customers' identity and financial information in order to establish a sound financial transaction order. The identity verification process that is carried out after signing up for the Hanpass app is part of the "Customer Verification System."
In accordance with the "Act on Reporting and Use of Specific Financial Transaction Information," customer information must be re-verified every 1 to 3 years based on risk assessment criteria, and this is a common practice among all domestic financial institutions. Hanpass re-verifies customers every 3 years in order to provide customers with safer and more transparent financial services.
1. What information is required for re-verification?
• Information for customer verification includes name, ID information, ID photo, address, contact information, overseas remittance purpose, etc.
2. Who will perform customer verification and when?
• Customers who have completed identity verification more than 3 years ago will be subject to re-verification. Customers who are subject to re-verification will undergo the identity verification process once again at the relevant interval when requesting remittance.

• If you don't re-enroll after verifying your customer, your use of overseas remittance services will be restricted."
- QHow do I cancel my membership?Please contact our domestic customer service center at 02-3409-1540 or contact the customer service center for each country.
- QWhat is "Withdrawal Account Registration"?Account registration' is a method of pre-registering the account information of the bank you wish to use in Hanpass so that you can use remittance easily and quickly.
- QWhat is the difference between 'Automatic' and 'Manual'?[Automatic] and [Manual] have different collection methods when processing remittances.
[Automatic]: When requesting a remittance, the amount of deposit (KRW) is automatically withdrawn from the account you registered. Only banks that have contracted with the Financial Supervisory Service Open Platform can be registered.
[Manual]: When requesting a remittance, a virtual account number is issued by Hanpass, and if you transfer the amount of the remittance request to that account number, the remittance will proceed to the next step.

1. Only banks contracted with the open platform service operated by the Financial Supervisory Service can be registered.

- QWhen registering an account, it says that the ID I used to sign up does not match the ID registered with the bank.* For foreigners, this message may appear when the membership registration information is incorrect.

- QCan I register someone else's account?No. The name of the Hanpass subscriber and the account holder must be the same.
- QHow many bank accounts can I register?There is no limit to the number of bank accounts you can register.
- QI want to register a corporate account. Is that possible?Corporate accounts cannot be used because they do not allow for identity verification or account verification. However, if it is a personal account and you use a pseudonym along with the 'depositor's name', you can use it.
Also, remittance to corporate accounts is not possible.

- QWhat benefits does the Hanpass Card offer?The Triple Card gives 3% cashback on overseas payments and waives overseas ATM withdrawal
fees; the GO Card gives 5% cashback at major Korean merchants (convenience stores, coffee shops,
public transit). Both work at VISA, Mastercard, and UnionPay merchants worldwide.
- QCan foreigners apply for a card?Yes. You apply in the Hanpass app, and because the cards are funded by linked accounts,
convenience-store top-ups, or mobile payments, no credit check is required.
- QCan I get customer support if I don't speak Korean?Customer support is available in 16 languages. Foreign-language support runs 10:00-22:00 including
weekends and holidays, and country-specific direct lines are listed in the app's Customer Center menu.
- QHow do I issue a card?If you are a Hanpass member, please apply at Main Screen > Hanpass Card > Apply for Card!
- QWhen will the card be delivered?After applying for the card, it is expected to arrive within 3-5 business days, but the delivery period may vary depending on the delivery situation in each region.
- QI didn't receive the card.Please check the delivery status in the card menu and request a re-delivery.
If the delivery status is complete, immediately report the loss. If you do not receive it within 5 business days after applying for the card, please contact the customer service center for each country.
- QHow do I register a card?After logging into the Hanpass APP, click 'Register Card'.
Enter the 3-digit CVC number on the back of the card and the 4-digit password you set when applying to complete the registration.
- QI want to cancel my card application.After applying for a card, cancellation is only possible until midnight on the day of application, and cancellation is not possible after midnight.
- QHow do I change the card delivery address?After applying for a card, changing the delivery address is only possible until midnight on the day of application, and change of delivery address is not possible after midnight.
- How to change the delivery address: You can change the address in the card application information management menu.
- QI entered my personal information incorrectly when applying for a card.After applying for a card, personal information can only be changed until midnight on the day of application, and cannot be changed after midnight.
